Hyatt Sanctuary Cove wedding

Admin Ray Lawler - Monday, January 16, 2012

Recently, Ray Lawler Studio were the photographers for the wedding of Carol and Javin

Javin proposed to Carol on his birthday in September 2006.

This beautiful couple met in 2002, when mobiles were rarely used and were expensive.  Javin and Carol had just got new mobiles and Javin accidentally sent Carol a text message which took her 5 minutes to understand.   Carol later realised it was a picture of Jesus Christ.  They were both in high school.  They dated for 5 years by distance, as they lived in different states.  Their friends were not sure if this would work, but look at the outcome!!

Their wedding and reception was held at the Hyatt Chapel Sanctuary Cove.  Carol arrived at the ceremony in the Rolls Royce Buggie, supplied by the Hyatt!

Carol and Javin’s theme was Turquoise Blue and White , the decorations were done by Style on Q.

The girls made their bouquets with artificial flowers:

Carol said of Ray Lawler Studio, “Ray was professional, patient and funny.”

Videography: Ray Lawler Studio, Chrissy was very appreciative and lovely.

For their honeymoon, Carol and Javin plan to go to Dubai.

Advice: Let it be your day and don't stress about anything, as things will happen the way it has to happen. We even used photos and made a frame of our loved ones who have past away, it gives a special meaning and they are there with you on your big day in spirit and are showering their blessings on you. Also, when you believe in your love and in each other distance doesn't matter, so distance dating does turn into marriage.

Gold Coast Wedding

Admin Ray Lawler - Wednesday, December 21, 2011

Vanessa and Hung went to the same primary & high school but really only met each other about 12 years ago through mutual friends (Vanessa’s best friend was with Hung’s best friend).

Hung proposed approx 7 years ago, they had booked a beautiful hotel room in town for Vanessa’s 21st birthday and Hung proposed that night over dinner.

Vanessa, Hung and their family stayed in Qld for just over a week and plan on going to Vietnam, Thailand or Bali in the next year or two when their youngest daughter is a little older.

Vanessa said “Just wanted to send a quick note again to say thank you so much for making our big day perfect.  You made everything so simple and there was nothing at all that we had to worry about.  We can’t thank you enough for the absolutely beautiful photos you took on the day and the super quick speed in which we received them from you in.  I couldn’t speak highly enough of the service we received.”

Thanks again Vanessa & Hung.

Beautiful Gold Coast Wedding

Admin Ray Lawler - Monday, December 05, 2011

Rhea and Reuben sealed their vows on one of Queensland’s most beautiful beaches on the Gold Coast with their 3 young sons and family who travelled from New Zealand to witness their wedding and celebrate their special day with them.

Reuben and Rhea met in a hotel/pub called The Commercial Hotel in Parramatta, Sydney 10 years ago.

Reuben had been hinting to Rhea for about 2 years saying "after 10 years of being together we should just get married ...” He went out and brought a ring without Rhea’s knowledge, and then while at home playing games with two of their sons, he got down on one knee and asked Rhea to marry him.  Rhea started crying and said "It’s about time", followed by "Of course, Yes!"  And that started the ball rolling to organise their special day.

Just a mini honeymoon, we stayed at the Regency on the Beach for 3 nights, which was beautiful and relaxing.

Rhea had contacted Elope to the Coast  to assist her with her wedding.  Elope to the Coast use Ray Lawler Studio for all their wedding photography and videography as they are very experienced and professional.

Perfect Match

Admin Ray Lawler - Friday, November 18, 2011

Kane & Tami met through a mutual friend once in early 2006 when they were 20 years of age, but didn't have much to do with each other. In early 2007 they met again at a local pub and decided to go on a date.  They got on so well, 4 months later they were living together. Then November 5th 2008 they welcomed their beautiful daughter Mia Jane into the world.

The proposal will never be forgotten -  it was a month after Mia was born - December 6th 2008 (her first smile was on this day also!) and they were staying at Yeppoon. Tami was an exhausted first time mum.  Kane said “Come on babe, leave Mia with mum.  I'm taking you to the beach for half an hour, you need a break  ... When they got to the beach, Tam  noticed within the first five minutes Kane was smoking like a chimney, nervously shaking.  Tam said “What's your deal?” And with a smoke hanging out of Kane’s mouth, he pulled a ring out of his pocket and said "Will you marry me?"  Tam was in shock!!!  Of course she said yes.

Kane's a man's man, so to this day they still laugh about how much he was shaking with a smoke hanging out of his mouth.

After the wedding day they had always dreamed of they stayed on the Gold Coast for their honeymoon. They did a lot of relaxing, went to Dreamworld, to the firing range and shot the biggest guns they could find, and went deep sea fishing.

Tam said “It's different being called a wife, but different in a good way! Need to get used to having a different last name though.”

A Family Affair

Phil and Karen met through work.  Karen said, “Phil was a sub-contractor installing garage doors for a company I was working for, and I would get to tell him where to go, which I still do to this day with our own business!”

The Proposal

Phil had plans, but unfortunately, as they run their own business, all the best laid plans went out the door and he got sick of waiting for the right opportunity to come along, so Phil just walked into Karen’s office and proposed - very romantic!

Ray, from Ray Lawler Studio was Phil and Karen's wedding photographer.  Karen said of Ray, "Ray was also a very calming person to add the crazy mix that was going on in the room and so funny also.  Then the camera man turned up also and was very funny.  Ray and our DVD man were so professional that you would not have even known that they were there, but when it came time to view the photos a week later, I do not even have any words to say about them except for perfect, beautiful and I cannot even choose 1 over the other as we love them all.  Captured so beautifully and some funny ones to throw in also."

All in all we had the most perfect wedding and our day was wonderful.

Thank you Ray and the team will never forget what you did for us.

Surprise Wedding

Admin Ray Lawler - Monday, November 14, 2011

Sally and Kristaps met when they were 16, attending college in Canberra, and began dating in 2006.  In 2009 they welcomed their first child who was their flower girl at their wedding.

On the evening before Sally’s 24th birthday they were strolling around the lake when Kristaps decided to walk off the path and stood amongst the blossom trees (Sally loves pink blossom trees), where he proposed to Sally.

Sally and Kristaps are so glad to have found Elope to the Coast who use Ray Lawler Studio for their  videography and photography.   Whilst they wanted to have an unforgettable and unique wedding, they wanted also wanted something that reflected them, but they could not justify spending a lot of money.

Sally said “My husband, daughter and I were going on a family vacation with the rest of the family, so we thought, What if we get married then? We have no beaches where we live that would be nice, (always wanted a beach wedding but never imagined it possible). We didn’t want to overshadow the excitement of the family vacation with our wedding so we thought we would leave it for a surprise and tell the family they were going to formal show and then dinner and instead surprise them when they actually got to the location. This was unique and different, as well.”

Sally and Kristaps also had a black theme.

Sally said of Ray Lawler’s work,  “Love the photos, I still get emotional when I watch the DVD and as I said hair and makeup was phenomenal!”

Sally and Kristaps felt their Surprise wedding was elegant but simple which was what they really wanted. Sally said “My husband was so happy at how relax it all was and my family could not believe how at ease I was, that is partly due to elope to the coast. Thank you for all your help at our beautiful surprise wedding!!!”

Ray Lawler Studio wish Sally and Kristaps and their beautiful daughter and wonderful life together!!

Paul and Lisa's Extraordinary Gold Coast wedding

Admin Ray Lawler - Monday, November 14, 2011

Paul and Lisa met through a friend.  They then met up again at Fisherman's Wharf and the rest is history ...

Paul proposed to Lisa in Bleiburg, Austria, on Christmas Day.  They had opened all their presents and Paul told Lisa there was one last gift that she had missed under the tree.  Lisa jumped up and raced over to the tree to look for it, and turned around and asked Paul "Where?", and there he was bent on one knee where he asked Lisa for her hand in marriage!

Paul and Lisa were married at the Royal Pines Chapel. It was decored in gorgeous ivory carpet for the aisle, with purple lithisansus scattered down either side of the carpet runway with flower stands draped in ivory organza topped with the purple posies.

The ceremony music was performed by Cabelle String Quartet which was so beautiful to walk down the aisle to.

Lisa arrived at the chapel in a hummer.

Lisa's wedding dress was the "Victoriana" - a Maggie Soretto design.

Paul and Lisa held their reception at the Sheraton Resort function room.  The theme had glitz and glamour and elegance, and matched Lisa's favourite colour of purple.

Lisa's family has used Ray Lawler Studio for all their family occasions for a long time.  Lisa said of Ray Lawler "they are always so professional, prompt and of course capture such beautiful moments both on camera and video.  Thanks to the Ray Lawler team - we have so many great memories we can look back on!"

Lisa and Paul honeymooned with a 3 week holiday to the USA - which included LA, Las Vegas and New York.  They had a grand time.

Lisa's advice:  If I had my time over again, I would have gotten up just that little bit earlier that morning so I had some time to collect myself before we had to rush out the door to the Chapel.

All the way from Western Australia to marry on Gold Coast beach

Admin Ray Lawler - Monday, November 14, 2011

Kate and Karl decided to get married on one of the most beautiful beaches on the Gold Coast on whilst on holiday, all the way from Western Australia.

Kate and Karl met at a quiz night for Karl’s football club.  They didn’t pay much attention to the questions, as they were too busy getting to know each other.  The night ended with Karl asking Kate out to dinner the next week.  And it just got better and better!

The Proposal

After having an amazing holiday in Disneyworld, Karl and Kate needed a weekend away.   Whilst away, Karl lit candles around the room and surprised Kate with a proposal when she got out of the shower. Of course Kate said “yes”, and as you can see, sealed the deal on holiday at the Gold Coast.

Kate and Karl spent their honeymoon on the beautiful Gold Coast, staying for a few nights at the Q1 tower.

Kate and Karl had a beautiful wedding on the foreshore at Main Beach.  Ray Lawler Studio took some fantastic photos of Kate and Karl’s special day.

A message from Karl and Kate, “Thank you for all your help, we had an amazing day! It was perfect.”

From the Country to the Beach

Admin Ray Lawler - Monday, November 14, 2011

Ray Lawler Studio were happy to be part of the celebration of marriage for Katrina and Jay.  They are very much in love and it showed so much on their wedding wedding day.  They were surrounded by close family and friends to celebrate their special day.

Jay and Katrina met at a local hotel called ‘The Rocks’ in Charleville (Qld) through a friend of Jay’s.  (That pub has since burnt down in 2010).

Katrina confessed her love for Jay when they were travelling back to a family friend’s farm near Toowoomba (after having dinner at Picnic Point).  They had pulled into McDonalds drive thru for a soft serve ice-cream.  During their dinner and the drive home, Katrina told Jay that she would like to settle down and get married and Jay didn’t say much in return.  She thought she had made a fool of myself and then a few minutes later it all changed… they were driving along the highway (somewhere near Oakey) and Jay finally spoke back in relation to their ‘settling down’ conversation asking Katrina, ‘Do you want to be my wife?” She replied “What?” He said “Will you be my wife?” Katrina said, “Are you proposing to me?” Jay said “Yes.” Katrina said “Yes I would love to be your wife.” Jay then went on to say that this wasn’t the way he wanted to propose.  Jay had a romantic plan but he couldn’t hold it in and just blurted it out then and there.

Katrina and Jay had a “little honeymoon” for 2 days after eloping, but are planning a trip to Maggie Island and then to Noosa for a “real” honeymoon.

Ray Lawler Studio took some great  relaxed and memorable photos and a video of Katrina and Jay and their family and friends.

Katrina said  “Our wedding day was hassle free with the most friendly service.  Our wedding day was everything we wished for, plus more!!”

Katrina and Jay eloped with the assistance of  Elope to the Coast.,  Ray Lawler Studio is their chosen supplier of photography and videography because of their 26 years of experience in wedding photography.  They are reliable and their imagery is second-to-none.

Ray Lawler Studio wish Katrina and Jay a wonderful long life together.
